Its Friday again, a new movie will release today and so is my blog. So here I am. After writing so much on the serious topics, I was looking for something fresh and light. Then, one of my good friend and colleague suggested me why not to write on some movie. There have been lot of talks about movies on Friday. Though its not a review of recent release. But i want talk about an old movie and I feel this is one of the best movies of all the time. It’s about “3 idiots.
The movie started with controversy when Aamir Khan denied the fact that the movie is inspired from a famous Indian fictional author Chetan Bhagat's "5 point someone". When, I was new in the reading world, Chetan Bhagat used to be my favorite writer and hence I was eagerly waiting for the movie to come. When this movie released I was pursuing MBA and I was living in Indore, the movie fever was everywhere, finally I decided too buy ticket in Black. Anyways, I grabbed my seat and the music begins “Kaha se aaya tha wo, yaar humara tha wo, kaha gaya usey dhundo.” It’s a fact even you all will agree that when a book is converted into a movie, we start comparing it and here I was connecting the moments that, which character was missing in the book and the movie was progressing. Honestly speaking there were some instances that are same as in book, but the movie had its different identity. Well you all must be thinking that after three years why I am writing about the movie, the reasons are many but things which we I think should be highlighted :1. The first and for most, "do what you like to". There are many live and proved examples in front of us. The one who follows his heart and do what he likes to proves himself Champion. Let me quote the same example from the movie, if Sachin Tendulkar was asked to be a singer and Lata Mangeskar was asked to be a cricketer, had they been as successful as they are now.
2. The second one is for parents, don’t force your children to be Engineer or Doctor, to pursue education is important but don’t decide their career. Let them be what they want to be.3. The third learning is for muggers, there are some in every batch. Mugging can help you only during the exams but not in real life. Ultimately, “tumhara balatkaar ho jaayegi.”
4. It takes some time to be what you want to be. There is no rocket science; neither guarantee that any particular course or college can provide you a handsome job. It’s all about the skills; if you have good ones success will be your girlfriend. Kamyaab hone ke liye nahi, kaabil banne ke liye padho, success jhak maar ke peeche aayegi.
5. It is said parents are the only ones in this entire world who would be most happy if you succeed and are always ready to help you till the time you finally settle down in life. Be frank with them and always tell them about your ambitions, passion and hobbies.
6. Do not bother about what people say, “Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna.” Till the time you you have are happy, everything is right and perfect.
Well, the reason I am praising 3 idiots is the movie gives us a clear message of the current situation of our country. I remember my days, after schooling, I was not clear what to do. Being a science student, I was advising to pursue Engineering. I enrolled myself for Engineering; initial one and a half year was horrible, nothing was going fine. It is said when you are at your worst you find who are your real friends. I realized how people are; anyways I completed my Engineering but was jobless. I won’t say that is most because recession, it was but I was not ready to fight then I decided to go for MBA. Unlike Engineering my days at my MBA’s were fun, but there was something missing, I was doing a course and studying something which usually students learn in 11th standard, the journal entries in Accounts and as like every engineer I was again struggling.
After MBA, when I appeared for interviews, the question that every interviewer asked me was "You are a software engineer why do you want to come in sales?" But sir now I am an MBA too. (my mind always replies like this.) Thank god, I handled these questions diplomatically. The similar question in the movie Aamir asks to Kareena- Jab MBA hi karna tha to Engineering kyu kia? Or abb America me bank me naukri karr rha hai?
This is my story but I know this is one of the very common story in our country. We are the country who produces maximum Engineers in a year. Our education system according to a survey is the third toughest and successful. These days everyone wants a 5 figure salaried job and to settle abroad. No-one wants to settle in India. A client from Germany was sharing me that the biggest edge India has over other countries is the population of youth or young blood. But I connect it the saying “Oldies and running country and new ones are running Facebook.”
I accept the fact that in our country youth lack proper guidance. There is just a rat race. We do what our friends do or our relatives advise us to do. Indian parents either want their child to be an Engineer or a Cricketer. Money is not everything; many rich brads are not able to sleep properly. Work satisfaction is the biggest thing and it will earn huge for you.
Lastly, just want to say do the things that your heart tells you and yes kiss karne me naak beech me nahi aati.
